Patch 12.17 for League of Legends is finally here, and Riot nerfed several champions that have been dominating their respective roles.

Here, we will cover the nerfs for one of the best engaging junglers, Wukong, and a strong top laner, Renekton.

Wukong

Wukong has been a prominent pick in pro play and solo queue because of his incredible engages, jungler clear speed, and unique abilities. Riot decided to give him these nerfs:

Base Stats

  • Base Attack Speed: From 0.711 to 0.680.

  • Base Movespeed: From 345 to 340.

The changes will make it slightly harder for him to rotate around the map than other junglers that can easily rush one camp.

Renekton

Renekton’s recent buffs made him one of the strongest blind picks in the top lane that can dominate most matchups, including ranged champs. Squishy targets in the top lane aren’t safe against this pick, as Renekton can 100 to 0 with one combo.

Cull the Meek (Q)

Renekton’s Cull of the Meek ability is dangerous, with Fury fully stacked up, dealing more damage. In this update, Riot nerfed both the base damage and Fury damage across all ranks. However, the scaling ratio is increased. So, Renekton needs more items before Q can smash enemies in a blink. In other words, Renekton must scale first.

  • Damage: From 65/100/135/170/205 (+80% bonus AD) to 60/90/120/150/180 (+100% bonus AD),

  • Furious Damage: From 100/150/200/250/300 (+120% bonus AD) to 90/135/180/225/270 (+140% bonus AD).

The nerf on his Q should make him a lot weaker if he builds tankier items while more damage if he goes full AD. Doing a hybrid build may be an option, but Renekton won't be deadly unless fed early. Regardless, don’t underestimate his combo and try baiting his important cooldowns before fighting him.

Similarly, Nami, Azir, Sivir, and a few other champions have received nerfs, and you can read more about them here.
