The Latest EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 Super GPU Comes With Higher Memory Speed

The GeForce RTX GPU series from Nvidia is already supercharged with Super models featuring better specs than the regular cards. The Super series cards deliver high gaming performance. They feature higher clocks, more cores, and are powered by the high-performance Turing architecture.

These improved features of the Super GPU series provide six times the performance of the previous Nvidia generation RTX 10 series graphics cards and up to 25 percent faster graphics performance than the original RTX 20 series.

Meanwhile, Nvidia hardware partners are allowed to apply their own factory overclocks. EVGA has launched a couple of new RTX 2070 Super graphics cards with faster memory speed. The two new EVGA GPUs are the GeForce RTX 2070 Super XC Ultra+ and the GeForce RTX 2070 Super FTW3 Ultra+.

Both of these new EVGA graphics cards come with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory that works at 15 GHz. This is a more than 10 percent memory speed increase compared with the reference RTX 2070 Super models that work at 14 GHz (496 GB/s of memory bandwidth on the new models versus 448 GB/s on regular RTX 2070 Super models). When it comes to stock clocks, the only GPU in the RTX series to work at a memory speed of 15 GHz is the RTX 2080 Super.

Among the two new video cards, the EVGA FTW3 Ultra+ is the higher end version. The GPU comes with a three fan cooling system. It features an 1.81 GHz GPU clock speed, up from 1.77 GHz clock speed on reference RTX 2070 Super models. The EVGA FTW3 Ultra+ graphics card is powered via a pair of 8-pin PCIe connectors.

The XC Ultra+ EVGA graphics card model is not far behind the FTW3 Ultra+ when it comes to GPU clockspeed. The card is factory overclocked to 1.8 GHz. The XC Ultra+ comes with a dual-fan cooler system. Additionally, the XC Ultra+ uses both 8-pin and 6-pin connectors (one each).

Both cards are available for purchase now. The RTX 2070 Super FTW3 Ultra+ is listed by EVGA at $599.99. The RTX 2070 Super XC Ultra+ has a price tag of $549.99.
