Publisher Ravenscourt and developer Parabole have officially announced Kona II: Brume, the sequel to Kona, the survival mystery adventure game from the same studio. Kona II: Brume will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam sometime in 2023. The announcement for Kona II: Brume came with its first official teaser which you can check out below.

Kona II: Brume marks the return of Detective Carl Faubert as he treks through 1970s Northern Quebec, Canada. In the desolating cold, a bizarre mist called the Brume is disconnecting a rural mining village from its reality while disrupting nature’s balance. Just as in Kona, Carl Faubert must brave the snowy landscapes, meeting other stranded people from a deadly avalanche along the way.

Kona II: Brume tasks you to explore the fictitious land of Manastan in Northern Canada, fighting through what’s left of the desolate village. As Faubert, you must search for clues in wooden shacks, visit various nearby locations with your trusty dog sled, and boat through the surrounding lakes. Much like in Kona, you must follow the clues and findings in Kona II: Brume very carefully and put your detective skills to the test.

Kona II: Brume will also feature survival elements similar to its predecessor, with the game throwing different natural hazards like deadly blizzards and wildlife as you make your way through your journey.

In another post, developer Parabole also confirmed that the game starts immediately where its predecessor left off: in October of 1970. However, they also say that Kona II: Brume will follow a completely different storyline made to please both fans of the originals and newcomers.

Those attending Gamescom later this year will have the chance to play a demo of the game via the Indie Arena Booth. Gamescom 2022 will run in Cologne from August 24 to August 29. If you can’t make it, it’s all good as well; Ravenscourt promises new gameplay footage and other details as well, to be revealed during the same date.

The game’s prequel, Kona, is now available to play on PC via Steam, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
