2K announced that Kobe Bryant is returning to the franchise as the cover athlete for the upcoming NBA 2K24. He's going to be featured in the Kobe Bryant Edition and Black Mamba Edition. The game is coming out September 8 and features crossplay compatibility for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
In a statement, Visual Concepts President Greg Thomas shared that as they celebrate 25 years of the franchise with Kobe Bryant, they'll also be commemorating his legacy and generational impact he had on the game itself. He went on to say that they're looking ahead to the future by bringing an innovative leap in technology, along with new features requested by the community like crossplay.
Enjoy New Features
To celebrate Kobe's return as the cover, players get the chance to channel their inner-Mamba mentality through the new Mamba Moments mode. Here, they get to recreate some of the most captivating performances of Kobe and progress through his journey from an up-and-coming baller to one of the greatest players of all time.
Another feature to look forward to is ProPLAY. This is a new technology which directly translates NBA footage to NBA 2K24 gameplay. This feature offers animations and movements through on-court NBA action.
