The Inhuman Royal Family. Marvel

The Inhumans television series premieres this September and the fans at San Diego Comic-Con were treated to some new footage for the upcoming Marvel television series along with a brand new trailer that has premiered online.

Marvel brought out the entire cast of the Inhumans to talk about the somewhat grueling production schedule in Hawaii, which apparently is not as great as it sounds when you’re there for four months.

Inhumans will premiere the first two episodes in IMAX theaters on Sept. 1 with the same episodes premiering on ABC starting Sept 29 with new footage that won’t be seen in theaters.

As director Roel Reine and screenwriter Scott Bompkin said during the panel, the story of the Inhumans shows how sometimes superpowers are not always helpful and that some of the characters have being using their powers as a crutch.

Head of Marvel’s Television division, Jeph Loeb, revealed that Black Bolt won’t be speaking at all “ever” not even by flashback or “magic surgery.” Also, Medusa’s hair will move (more on that later).

But the biggest news comes from the new footage shown, which there were three.

OPENING SEQUENCE

The first is the opening sequence on Earth where Triton has gone on Earth because of Inhumans popping up.

A young woman with yellow eyes is running from armed soldiers in the jungle in the rain. Triton runs into her and explains to her that she’s an Inhuman. Her powers are that she has enhanced hearing and they run away but she’s shot seemingly dead before Triton runs off and is shot in the side.

He jumps down a waterfall and the soldiers say that their mission has been accomplished.

DINNER SEQUENCE

The dinner sequence where Black Bolt, Medusa, Karnak, Maximus, Gorgon and Crystal are at a table and Maximus questions sending Triton to Earth because he may be dead.

Black Bolt, using sign language and Medusa interpreting, explains about how Earth’s water has been contaminated with Terrigen Mist unlocking Inhuman potential. And those new Inhumans are now part of the family.

Maximus says that they can barely afford to take care of the city of Attilan as is rather than bring in a bunch of new Inhumans. Black Bolt says to trust their king and Maximus leaves as Karnak tells Black Bolt that Maximus is trying to undermine his authority and that he is being blind to it (bc he’s his brother) but Karnak will be loyal to Black Bolt.

Gorgon gets up and says that Black Bolt should have sent him instead of Triton and he leaves and tells Crystal to come with.

GORGON/KARNAK FIGHT SCENES

Maximus has made his move and Gorgon is in Hawaii looking for Triton when the soldiers who tried to take out Triton approach him while Inhuman soldiers on Attilan approach Karnak.

Gorgon slams the ground with his feet to create a small quake before he takes the soldiers out.

Karnak uses his martial arts to take down the soldiers but is shot in the stomach. However, it’s not really Karnak as the entire fight sequence was is in his mind and he evaluates it before choosing a path that will not get him killed.

MEDUSA AND MAXIMUS

Maximus stops Medusa and kind of probes her mind and asks if she regrets going down that aisle and if she ever thinks how her life would have been better if she was with him and not Black Bolt.

She says that she will tell Black Bolt about what he’s saying and Maximus says that she can’t handle him alone?

Maximus says that they used to be a team, bad kids who used to be inseparable. Medusa’s hair moves as he lays his hands on her shoulders and tries to convince her but Medusa uses her hair to choke Maximus and push him against a pillar before telling him that she is her queen.

NEW TRAILER

There was also a brand new trailer that was shown and will be shown in front of the new Christopher Nolan film, Dunkirk. Check it out below.
