The Horizon Zero Dawn 1.33 update is now available to install Guerrilla Games

Horizon Zero Dawn’s 1.33 update is now available to download and install. Developer Guerilla Games has released the full patch notes on the official Horizon Zero Dawn subreddit.

The patch, which clocks in at 309.6 MB, includes some new features and other fixes. Unfortunately, it has already been confirmed the patch introduces a crash that will occur for some players. More about the crash can be found at the end of the full patch notes below. Looks like Guerilla has some more work to do for the next update.

The biggest addition is the ability to take a manual game save from a previous playthrough and transfer it into New Game Plus mode. Previously, starting a new game would overwrite the old save file’s quick/autosaves, meaning some people would lose access to older playthroughs. Now the game will warn you if there isn’t a manual save before starting a New Game Plus file.

Horizon Zero Dawn 1.33 Patch Notes

The full patch notes are as follows:

NEW FEATURES

• Implemented an option to allow making a manual save from a previous Game when starting a New Game to avoid losing progress.

GENERAL FIXES

• Fixed an issue where for some players Tearblast Arrows incorrectly deal extra Tear damage on Ultra Hard.

• Fixed an issue where some players were able to reroll Special Modification Boxes by saving and reloading.

PROGRESSION ISSUES FIXES

• Fixed an issue in ‘The Womb of the Mountain’ when playing on Story difficulty where some players were able to kill the Corruptor outside of the gate, blocking progression because the player is not able to interact with it to continue the quest.

– Update: Unfortunately patch 1.33 introduced a crash that would occur for certain players when trying to load a save where the player had an opened treasure box in their inventory containing a modification and other items. We are currently working on a fix for this issue.
