With Year 4 just around the corner, For Honor is slowly wrapping up Year 3 and they're doing so in grand fashion with the seasonal event known as Zhanhu's Gambit. Centering on Zhanhu Sun Da, the event introduces a variety of themed rewards and items. There's also a new limited-time game mode called Emperor's Escape.

Emperor's Escape is a PvE mode that is playable from December 20 until January 2. Here, a team of up to four players protect the Wu Lin Emperor from the forces of the Blackstone Legion. To be successful, players need to capture zones in order to move across the map and then clear a path for the Emperor. Each zone on the map is protected by hordes of increasingly stronger enemies that include foes that have been "cursed" with special modifiers. Players need to work together and make sure the Emperor survives until they get the chance to reach, and then defeat, the Blackstone commander.

In addition to the LTM, this new event also introduces new themed orders and arcade quests. There are also new weapons and cosmetic items for players to unlock during the event. Until January 6, players can also buy the Zhanhu’s Gambit Bundle, which includes new outfits, effects, ornaments, and an emote, among others, for 45,000 Steel per Hero.

Year 4

So what can payers expect for Year 4? For starters, it's going to be like Year 3 and divided into four Seasons with each Season offering its own theme, activities, and rewards. Each season is also going to offer a Battle Pass of its own. You can read more about that here.

For Honor is set during the medieval period, but with a fantasy setting. It was originally released in 2017. Players take on the role of a character from three different factions, which are the Iron Legion (Knights), the Warborn (Vikings), and the Dawn Empire (Samurai). A fourth faction, the Wu Lin, was added in 2018. Upon release, For Honor received mainly favorable reviews and even winning Best Fighting Game in IGN's Best of 2017 Awards.
