On Twitter, publisher tinyBuild and developer Cradle Games announced a “one to two weeks” delay for the Xbox Series native version of Hellpoint, the Souls- like RPG released on other platforms in 2020. Cradle Games revealed that the delay for Hellpoint was caused by “technical specificities of the platform,” meaning that it is a problem that’s surely native to Microsoft’s new-gen consoles. Check out the full announcement made on Twitter below.
Cradle Games also confirmed that the impending launch of the Blue Sun DLC will not be affected in any way, as it’s expected to release sometime today, July 12. To that end, players who have already bought Hellpoint: Blue Sun can play it via backward compatibility and the Microsoft Smart Delivery feature while the native Xbox Series port for the game is still not out. Alternatively, you can also wait a bit, as the studio says to stay tuned for further announcements.
If things seemed a bit sudden, that’s because it is. Cradle Games basically waited until the day before the launch date to announce the delay. However, given that the team had a rather short timeline not exceeding a month, it can be understandable. Players can only hope that Cradle Games will stick to the schedule this time around.
If you’re playing on PlayStation 5, then there are also no issues on the launch for today. Hellpoint is a dark sci-fi RPG, one of the many Souls -likes that seek to make a name for itself with its unique setting and atmosphere. In Hellpoint, players play as a Spawn of the Authority brought to a derelict space colony to investigate the circumstances of a massive quantic cataclysm. The game features a fully open-world within the colony of Irid Novo which orbits around a mysterious black hole that will introduce dynamic gameplay changes as players venture on.
Hellpoint: Blue Sun, its first major DLC, is launching later today on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia.
