A new patch is released for Hearthstone, which gives players access to the base Battlegrounds Emotes. Players can also get special Emotes that they can equip over the base emotes, which are part of their Battlegrounds Collection.

The first set of Battlegrounds Emotes is the Mystery Mayhem. These are a collection of Nathria and murder-mystery-themed emotes available one week after the Murder at Castle Nathria expansion goes live. Learn more about the upcoming expansion here.

New Hero

Patch 24.0 also introduces a new Armor Tier 1 hero with Heistbaron Togwaggle. This new hero has the power known as The Perfect Crime which can:

  • [9 Gold] Steal all minions in Bob’s Tavern. Each turn, your next Hero Power costs (1) less.

At the end of each Recruit phase, the cost of the next Hero Power is reduced by one automatically. Each time Togwaggle’s Hero Power is used, the cost resets to the original nine Gold cost and starts the cycle over again.

Minion Updates

Another change introduced with this new patch is the update done to Red Whelp:

  • Old: 1 Attack, 2 Health
  • New: 2 Attack, 2 Health

Meanwhile, the Evolving Chromawing is reworked and returned to the minion pool:

  • Evolving Chromawing [Tavern Tier 1, Dragon]
  • 1 Attack, 1 Health. After you Upgrade your Tavern Tier, gain +1/+1 for each friendly Dragon.

Arena Updates

Once the new expansion goes live, it means the end of all current Arena runs. However, it also means that a new Arena season is starting. The eligible card sets are going to rotate so that these sets make up the Arena card pool:

  • Core
  • One Night in Karazhan
  • Saviors of Uldum
  • Rastakahn’s Rumble
  • Scholomance Academy
  • Madness at the Darkmoon Faire
  • Murder at Castle Nathria

New Feature for All Players

There’s also a new feature that everyone can enjoy which is the Hearthstone Collection Manager. This lets players favorite multiple heroes from the same class. If a deck doesn’t have a specific hero assigned to it, a random hero is instead used in each game.

By default, the random hero is pulled from that pool of favorites chosen by players. However, it’s also possible to opt into total randomness.
