Hearthstone announced that it is all set to launch its newest Solo Adventure, Tombs of Terror. This new content is set to arrive with the game's upcoming update. Chapters 1 and 2 of this adventure begin on September 17.

For this new adventure, the Arch-Villain Rafaam and his League of E.V.I.L. have opened the Tombs of Terror and unleashed misguided miscreants along with powerful plague lords. It is up to the League of Explorers to put a stop to them.

So what can players expect from Tombs of Terror?

As mentioned, the new adventure marks the arrival of the Plague Lords. These are massive murloc amalgamations and maelstroms of whirling madness that bring death. These monstrosities have gigantic health pools, so you probably won’t be able to bring them down on your first attempt. However, you can slowly whittle them down for your next attempt.

Given the power and danger that comes with the plague lords, even legendary heroes need to put in that extra effort. Thus, our heroes need to make use of some powerful magical equipment, hone their holy pursuits, and even redouble their education efforts. Elise, Brann, Finley, and Reno need to hone their crafts in order to save the day. What does this mean? Tombs of Terror is set to introduce a feature many players are sure to love called Dual-Class Heroes. For this new adventure, players get to choose one hero and have access to cards from two classes as well as some new powers and treasures.

Having new skills may not be enough, as our heroes need to equip themselves with powerful signature treasures. These treasures can be unlocked by finishing challenges and defeating bosses during your runs. Your pack starts to fill out with powerful cards and magical loot as you make your way through the tombs.

Players who pre-purchase Tombs of Terror get the limited-time Deluxe Adventure Bundle and can claim their Card Back along with a random Saviors of Uldum Legendary. Once the Tombs unlock on September 17, the standard Adventure is going to be offered at a lower price, but no longer includes the Card Back and random Legendary.

The Card Backs added to the game are:

  • Titanic Tasks: Acquired by completing Tombs of Terror on normal difficulty.
  • Tomb Invader: Acquired by completing Tombs of Terror on Heroic difficulty.
  • Darkmoon Faire: Acquired by winning 5 games in ranked mode during the October 2019 season.

Chapters 3 and 4, along with the Grand Finale, will be released in the following weeks.
