Halo’s library on PC continuous to grow. After Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary was released on PC via the Master Chief Collection, it’s now time for the next game in the franchise. Halo 2 and Halo 2 Anniversary will begin their public beta testing today only. The announcement was made by Tyler Davis, the Community Coordinator of Halo. He revealed the information via a tweet, which you can read below.

If you want to get your hands on the public beta then you will have to join the Halo Insider Program. However, joining the program will not automatically guarantee you access to the beta. Click here for more info.

As mentioned above, both Halo 2 and Halo 2 Anniversary are coming to the PC. You will be able to switch the graphics between the remaster and the classic in the settings menu. We can expect a proper PC launch after the public beta is finished. We are almost halfway there with the Master Chief Collection. After Halo 2, the only games left are Halo 3, ODST and Halo 4. The only Halo game that will not be playable on PC will be Halo 5.

So far the reception for MCC on PC has been very good. Both Reach and Combat Evolved were able to satisfy the fans and critics. 343 Industries will also release continuous updates to fix any bugs that may come up.

Halo 2 was originally released back in 2004 and acts as a direct sequel to Combat Evolved. The sequel received strong critical reception, just like its predecessor. A PC port was also released back in 2007. MCC will bring the best version of Halo 2 on PC, with better graphics, audio, new features, and most of the annoying bugs squashed out.

So what do you think? Are you excited about the Halo 2 Public Beta? Or are you planning to play the game when it gets a proper launch? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
