Guild Wars 2 developer ArenaNew announced a new update last week, and true to their word, the company has delivered hundreds of changes to the many of the game’s class specializations and elite specializations. From graphic updates and adding better visual effects to tweaking certain numbers to make certain classes play more smoothly, the latest Guild Wars 2 patch has so much to offer.

At first glance, a ‘balance patch’ doesn’t seem like much, but delving into the full patch notes and highlights available on the Guild Wars 2 website, there are massive changes that have made their way into the game. In addition to some well thought-out numbers tweaking, the update also replaces certain abilities, adds new effects to existing skills, and overall aims to make gameplay smoother and more enjoyable. And don’t worry, based on what we’ve seen from the patch notes, most of these changes are more or less direct buffs, so you can expect your characters to hit harder, survive longer, and overall play better after the patch.

Guild Wars 2 is an MMORPG developed by ArenaNet and published by NCSoft. Since its launch in 2012, Guild Wars 2 has become one of the most celebrated MMO titles ever made. In 2017, ArenaNet reported a player-base of 11 million players, with a concurrent players peaking at just under half a million. While Guild Wars 2 has observed two very popular and well-received expansions to date - Path of Fire and Heart of Thorns - this massive balance update changes so much about the game. Even the most inveterate players may find new builds and new experiences with their favorite classes and specializations. With the balance updates, play-styles that didn’t used to be viable might just come out on top. In any case, the changes offer a fresh experience for new and returning players alike.
