The first episode of Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series finally has a launch date, three months after the project was announced at The Game Awards, and it’ll only be two more weeks before we get our first look at Star-Lord & Co. in their latest adventure. Now we just have to hope Telltale could afford to license Bob Dylan’s music for Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, Episode One - Tangled Up In Blue .

According to Telltale, the first episode of Guardians of the Galaxy will emerge in mid-April, giving the studio seven and a half months to deliver the remaining four… assuming Telltale will finish the first season before year’s end, as it has with several recent episodic adventures. Telltale also announced the series’ first pre-order incentive: a premium theme for North and South American PS4 owners willing to spend $4.99 before launch day.

Those interested in a physical copy of Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will have to wait an extra two weeks to play, or pay for the first episode twice. Physical copies won’t go out to North American stores until May 2, three days before Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 hits theaters, and anyone living in other regions will have to wait until Friday, May 5.

For an early look at Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, take a minute to watch the teaser trailer (at the top of the page) that debuted last year. Then head down to the comments section and let us know what you’re hoping to see (or hear) when Guardians of the Galaxy debuts next month.

Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, along with iOS and Android devices. The first episode, Tangled Up In Blue, debuts April 18.
