Polyphony Digital released Gran Turismo 6 on December 2013. Two and a half years doesn't seem like a very long time, but since then racing gamers have moved on from the last-gen consoles and enjoyed the likes of Drive Club (October 2014), Forza Horizon 2 (September 2014), Project Cars (May 2015) and Forza Motorsport 6 (Sept. 2015). Finally, Polyphony is readying its return as PlayStation's racing flagship with the highly anticipated Gran Turismo Sport. How far has Gran Turismo come?

Very far, apparently. YouTuber MotoGamesTV created a side-by-side comparison of Gran Turismo 6 and Gran Turismo Sport featuring Brands Hatch, Nurburgring and Willow Springs. From the video, big visual enhancements can be seen everywhere. GT Sport combines a new lighting engine with a brilliant natural composition of the environment. The colors are vibrant and the textures on the road surface and the glistening paint on the cars make Gran Turismo 6 look dull and mundane.

However, the beautiful visuals don't hide Gran Turismo Sport's sound. At this time, Polyphony has yet to finalize its new sound engine, but we're unimpressed and aren't getting our hopes up. Perhaps this is the only parameter that keeps Gran Turismo Sport from truly coming alive.
