GOG is giving away The Witcher: Enhanced Edition once again for players who haven’t owned the game. The Witcher is over a decade old and still a pretty fun game to play if you are a fan of the series.
If you want to grab the game, you need to download and install it through the GOG client. It may annoy you that a client is a must. But at least the game is available for free. GOG likely did it to get more players to invest in its client. It's known for competing against others like Steam, Epic, Origin, and Blizzard. There are also some bad reviews about the launcher. So make sure you are well-protected before you do anything with the client.
To find the game, go to the recent tab on the GOG client. You should see The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut banner on the top of the page. You just have to click on the button and the game will be added to your library. The game is free forever, so you can grab it anytime.
The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut has some pretty weird combat mechanics and terrible graphics for modern gaming. But, if you're interested in the storyline it’s a pretty enjoyable game.
Want to follow the crowd and play The Witcher for fun? The Witcher 3 would be the best game. It has the perfect balance between graphics and storyline. We would even recommend you to read the books and watch The Witcher Netflix series if you haven’t.
So, what do you think about GOG’s giveaway for the client? Do you think GOG is forcing players to download the client to attract more players? Personally, I think using the Steam app is safer and the game is pretty cheap. Though, if you want to add a game to your collection it’s the best time to do it now.
