So apparently, Samsung is sailing clear past the Galaxy Note 6 and straight to the Galaxy S8. No, not really, the manufacturer just seems to be getting a head start on its April Fools joke. A teaser image featuring the number 8 surfaced on Samsung’s Instagram and Twitter pages Thursday, with the caption, “Something big is coming tomorrow. #TheNextGalaxy.”

We’ll have to see if Samsung will elaborate on its joke come April 1, but rest assured that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is not releasing four weeks after the Galaxy S7 hit stores. It is however, a pretty cheeky way for Samsung to make fun of itself. The manufacturer is known for frequently releasing smartphones.

Tech companies in particular do a good job with their April Fools jokes. Enthusiasts can expect gaffes from the likes of Google, T-Mobile, Amazon and many others come Friday. But it will still be months before real Galaxy S8 release date rumors begin.
