The third and final expansion pack of the city building game Frostpunk is finally here. As previously announced, the On The Edge DLC is now out on PC. The console version of the update will release at a later date. The expansion pack is free for Season Pass owners, but you can purchase it separately for $13. The DLC added lots of new content to the game. There are 16 new areas for players to explore. Players can also develop seven new technologies and construct three new city structures. New mechanics have been added to the Endless mode and players can now communicate with other communities via the Administration building. Players can also listen to six new music tracks.

On The Edge - General Features List:

  • Be flexible or stay firm as the leader - Can you trust other communities? Should you respect their ways of survival or bend them to your will?
  • Establish an economical union with other outposts using the Transport Depot.
  • Help develop other Settlements by fulfilling their requests.
  • Construct Safe Routes on the Frostland and exchange surplus resources for those you lack.
  • Discover 16 brand new areas of the Frostland and revisit some of the old sites - learning their fate after the Great Storm.
  • Construct three new city structures and develop seven new technologies.
  • Communicate with other communities thanks to brand new UI in the Administration building.
  • Try to survive without control over the Book of Laws.
  • Enable new mechanics available in the Endless Mode.
  • Listen to six new music tracks composed by Piotr Musiał.

Frostpunk and two of its previous expansion packs have received critical reception from its fans, however the same can’t be said about the On The Edge DLC. The final expansion pack received a mixed reception, with most criticizing the overall quantity and quality of the new content.
