One of the most distinctive features of “Fortnite” Season 7 was the mythical Infinity Blade. The powerful sword weapon granted significant stat boosts to whoever managed to wield it during each Battle Royale match, but “Fortnite” fans found it so unbalanced that developer Epic Games removed it from the game only a few days after adding it.

Epic put the sword in the “vault,” which means it will be gone from the game until or unless Epic decides there is a better way to include it, in “Fortnite” parlance.

The Infinity Blade was a game-changing weapon that only one player per match could wield at a time, similar to Thanos’s Infinity Gauntlet over the summer. However, unlike the Infinity Gauntlet, it spawned in the same place during every match, so “Fortnite” matches tended to revolve entirely around the blade in a way some players did not enjoy.

The developers acknowledged that there was no viable way for players to counter whoever got the Infinity Blade, which disrupted the flow of each match. Now that the Infinity Blade has been vaulted, “Fortnite” players can get back to the regular Battle Royale gameplay they had grown accustomed to.
