Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn revealed the first “teaser poster” (is that a thing now? Where does that fit in with the title treatment reveal and the motion poster and the teaser for the teaser?) on Twitter.

It shows the Guardians, minus new member Mantis. If you haven’t been paying close attention to the various convention reveals this poster has some big surprises. For one, Yondu (Michael Rooker) — with a sexy, new mohawk fin — will be teaming up with the Guardians after spending most of the last movie threatening to eat Peter Quill (Chris Pratt). Even more surprising though is the presence of Nebula (Karen Gillan), who seemingly fell to her death in the first Guardians of the Galaxy. Yes, both of the “daughters” of Thanos are teaming up with Star-Lord and the vengeful Drax (Dave Bautista).

This first look at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 probably presages a much-rumored imminent release of a teaser trailer for the movie. With the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel arriving May 5, 2017, Doctor Strange will be the last Marvel Studios movie the trailer could appear before, making a Vol. 2 teaser a pretty safe bet.

In addition to the 2017 release date, we eagerly await for the day technology advances to the point where every household can have a baby Groot-bot.
