April 23 may become the biggest night for electronic music as a new awards show specifically dedicated to electronic genres will premiere on Fox, Deadline reported Thursday. The first ever Electronic Music Awards & Foundation Show will be recorded at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles on April 14 and will air on Fox a week and a half later.

The awards show will be a joint production effort between DJ Paul Oakenfold and TV4 Entertainment. At this time there are few details on what the awards show will entail or which artists will be in attendance; however, the Verge notes that no major EDM artists have confirmed their attendance. Still, there are a few months before the big show.

Outside of shows and music festivals, there has been no real platform for electronic music. The Grammys has two awards for electronic music, Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Dance Recording. The album Syro by the Aphex Twin won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2015, while the song Rather Be by Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne won for Best Dance Recording. The Electronic Music Awards & Foundation Show takes place about two months after the Grammy Awards.

An electronic music awards would be an interesting venture considering there are a plethora of genres under the electronic music umbrella. In recent years, genres such as dubstep, electro and progressive house have been especially popular.

The awards show also takes place not long after the beginning of EDM festival season, with Ultra Music Festival taking place March 18 to 20. Many artists also tend to have their North American tours during the early months of the year, meaning many likely won’t be far from Los Angeles at the time of filing.
