Final Fantasy VII was first released for the PlayStation consoles way back in 1997. The game is considered by many as the hallmark title when it comes to the RPG genre. The original title received critical acclaim for its epic storyline and unique characters. It also has movie sequences that make use of the most cutting-edge technology of the time. Since its release, the game has sold more than 14.4 million copies around the world.

A while back, the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy project was started with the first game, which is Final Fantasy VII Remake, released in 2020. The game has been praised not only by players but also by critics. It has since become the highest-selling digital release on the PlayStation platform in the history of Square Enix. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second game in the trilogy and offers a standalone story. It's available for the PlayStation 5.
