With so many announcements made at Microsoft’s Xbox E3 2019 Briefing, it was easy to miss some new information or teasers regarding several other projects in the pipeline. Although some info continue to be rumors or hearsay within the industry, like that big Fable hype that basically flatlined after Microsoft’s E3 2019 showcase ended, some news did get announced and was outright dismissed, like Cuphead and its incoming DLC, aptly titled The Delicious Last Course.

Two years after its initial release for PCs and the Xbox One, Cuphead continues to be an example of what makes an amazing indie game – strong, challenging and incredibly rewarding run-and-gun bullet hell gameplay coupled, an amazing track list of jazz tunes, and a very solid rubber hose art-style to boot. The game has received very little in terms of additional content, save for a few quality-of-life patches here and there and the ability to play as my main man Mugman – Cuphead’s somewhat aloof brother – in single-player mode.

That will soon change with the impending release of The Delicious Last Course, which will add several new stages, bosses and run-and-gun sections to the challenging title, in addition to a new character called M. Chalice. What’s more amazing is that now, Studio MDHR – the developer behind Cuphead – has made a massive pickup in an animator, one which will surely elevate this upcoming DLC to new heights.

In a tweet, ex-Disney animator Tom Bancroft announced his involvement on The Delicious Last Course. Check out the tweet below.

Tom Bancroft, for those who weren’t aware, worked at Disney during the period known as the Renaissance era, which is considered the high point of animation back then. During this era, Disney produced most of its classics, including The Lion King, Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and many more.

This collaboration can only mean amazing things for Cuphead and The Delicious Last Course, as an actual ex-Disney animator san provide firsthand experience of the art style that inspired Studio MDHR in the first place. Of course, what remains to be seen is when The Delicious Last Course will actually release, and if it’s still on schedule for later this year.

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course will be released on the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC sometime this year.
