Summer may be over but on Steam, it’s just starting. That’s because The Endless Summer - Search For Surf is now available. The game is being offered on the platform for 25% off until September 11.

The game is based on the American surf documentary titled The Endless Summer released in 1966. It was directed, produced, edited, and narrated by Bruce Brown, considered by many as the pioneer of surf films. Like the film, the game has players explore new islands and discover new breaks.

Whether you’re a surfing fan, the game offers fun for everyone. Players can learn how to surf by starting out at beginner breaks. Local surfers are going to give advice and once ready, players can explore the islands and find new waves.

The good thing is that players don’t need to go on an adventure alone. They can bring along a friend through a split-screen experience. Players can even challenge their friends through a professional surf league-style contest.

Features of the game include:

  • Duck diving
  • Wave catching
  • Set waves
  • Physics-based surfing
  • Open world: Play on land too
  • Jet Skis are used to explore/find other spots
  • Two-Player split-screen (Remote play through Steam service)
  • Surf Contest Scored and Timed with two players at the same time
  • Game progression based on chatting with game surfers
  • Tailslides, off-the-lip schwacks, cutbacks, airs, and tube rides are possible with simple controls.
  • PC and Mac versions are currently available.
  • Support for controllers, keyboards, and mice.
  • 3 toggled camera views, including pseudo-first person.
  • 18 breaks: Long point breaks, barreling reef breaks, and shifty beach breaks.
  • Secret spots and big-wave breaks.
  • Players ride different boards from fast fish shapes to pin tail miniguns.
