TES V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Now Live, Free Patch Released for SE Owners

The wait is over. Bethesda has finally released its latest edition of Skyrim. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition is now available for purchase on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It costs $49.99 alone, however, if you own the Special Edition of Skyrim, then you can upgrade to AE for only $19.99. This new edition has a free next-gen upgrade PS4 and Xbox One owners who have the Special Edition.

The Anniversary Edition brings all content released for Skyrim in one complete package, plus more stuff. It includes the new Fishing feature, which you can check out on the video above.

That’s not all. The developer has released a free patch for PC owners of Skyrim: Special Edition. The patch is 5.3 GB in size and is filled with bug fixes. The patch improved game performance and fixed some art and lighting issues.

  • General performance optimizations
  • Minor art and lighting fixes
  • Adjusted creation quests so they no longer start upon leaving Helgen
  • Bug fixes and balance updates to the following Creations:

The Anniversary Edition is mainly offered to gain access to tons of Creation Club content. On its 10th anniversary, Skyrim: Special Edition gets four pieces of content from Creation Club. But if you buy the Anniversary Edition, you will unlock all previously released content or hundreds of pieces of content to play with.
