Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is offering everyone the ability to try out the game with a demo. It’s not your typical demo though, as this one is offering almost 10 hours of content. That should be enough to hold fans over until the actual game is released on December 4.

The demo is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

So what does the Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition demo have to offer? For starters, it’s going to take everyone through the opening chapter, which itself is already rather lengthy. Players take on the role of a young man that’s set to take part in a ceremonial climb which marks his passage into adulthood. However, events take a rather unexpected and dangerous turn and the young man realizes he has a power and destiny that can change his life forever.

Once the introduction is out of the way, players get to experience the lush and vibrant world of Erdrea. Be ready to explore an environment that’s richly detailed along with secrets that needs to be discovered. Then there are the monsters that need to be defeated in fast-paced and exciting turn-based combat.

By the way, did we mention that whatever progress you have in the demo you can carry over to the full game?

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age was first released back in 2017 for the Nintendo 3DS and PS4, though the release was limited to Japan. A worldwide version was later released for the PC and PS4 a year later. The Definitive Edition, which is an enhanced version of the original, was released in September 2019 for the Nintendo Switch.

This enhanced version of Dragon Quest XI S offer a bunch of new features. For example, the orchestral in-game music is now included as standard. There’s also the ability to be able to speed up battles, which players can try in the demo.

What else? There’s a new photo mode which allows players to capture beautiful vistas and meadows with artistic shots. Of course, players could always pose their characters in funny ways to take a photo. For those feeling a little nostalgic, players have the choice to play in retro 2D as well if they wish.

What are you waiting for? Hurry up and give the Dragon Quest XI S demo a try.
