The story and details of the upcoming Dragon Ball: Project Fusion game for the Nintendo 3DS have been revealed in the pages of April’s V-Jump.

According to the popular Japanese manga magazine, your main character and Pinijji, who appears to be a new Super Saiyan will travel throughout the game world, which consists of various times and places from the Dragon Ball anime series. The key part of Project Fusion’s story is finding out why the world has become fused the way it has.

Since time and space are now mixed together, you can potentially run into any character from any point in the series. The below scan -- via Kazenshuu -- from V-Jump shows Pan from Dragon Ball GT and Boo-era Videl co-existing as an example.

You can recruit characters into your party and fuse them together. Fusions that would normally be impossible can be achieved using a special armband that the characters wear.

The magazine even teases the Goku and Broli fusion that is being hyped up to be more powerful than Vegetto.

In one of the screenshots, Trunks tells your character to recruit more characters to your party to “gather more energy.” It’s likely that certain fusions can only be achieved after recruiting a certain number of characters or increasing some sort of stat in-game.

Dragon Ball: Project Fusion will also be getting a promotional manga tie-in that will be serialized in Saikyo Jump starting in May while the deadline for the fan-made fusion submissions have is March 18.

So what do you think of the upcoming 3DS game? Which fusion combination do you want? Sound off in the comments section.
