Dota 2: Tips to Make the Most Out of Your Turbo Mode Experience

It's all about speed. Valve

Turbo Mode is introduced by Valve as a way to attract new players to Dota 2. One of the goals is for players to get a quick introduction to the game. As the name implies, everything happens a little bit faster because the experience and gold gains are increased, with no gold loss upon death.

To make the most out of your Turbo Mode experience, today we'll take a quick look at what you can do.

Hero Selection

One of the best things about Turbo Mode is that it lets you try out different heroes. You can play a hero that you've always wanted to play or base your choice on the heroes around your team's composition. Once you've chosen the hero you want, you can do a build based on the current meta. If you want to have more fun, maybe try out some new builds. It's even possible to have a different build sequence.

Want to play Axe as support? Go ahead. How about Silencer as a carry? Why not?

The Farm

In Dota 2, one way to get ahead of opponents is knowing how to farm and Turbo Mode is an excellent environment for this. Because the experience and gold gains are higher, you get to hit the timings quicker. If you want to get more advantage, go ahead and buy Hand of Midas.

Item Builds

As mentioned, Turbo Mode allows you to practice item builds for your chosen hero. While you can always follow the meta, there's always room for experimentation. This game mode is a good way to test just how quick you are in creating strategies and adapting to any situation.

Take Dazzle as an example. One of his abilities is that when he casts a spell, item cooldown reduction is lowered by 50%. There's an item called Shadow Blade which makes a hero become invisible for a certain duration. This one is a good pair with Dazzle. Why? The duration of the effect is 14 seconds, and its cooldown is 28 seconds. Get it yet? With his ability, it's possible to have Dazzle always on.

Don't be afraid to experiment and maybe you can discover something effective in a real match.
