There’s still no word from Valve when the new DPC Season for Dota 2 officially starts. However, this early, there’s already a big reason for fans to be excited. That’s because two-time TI champions Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, Sébastien “Ceb” Debs, and Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen are returning to the pro scene.

While there’s still no official statement yet, they’ve already registered for the upcoming season under the team new “Old G.” But that’s not all as Old G has a complete roster joined by Volodymyr “No[o]ne-” Minenko and Arif “MSS” Anwar.

As mentioned, there’s no official word yet from any of these players but there’s a high chance that this is how they’re going to be placed:

  • No[o]ne- (carry)
  • Topson (mid)
  • Ceb (offlane)
  • MSS (soft support)
  • N0tail (full support)

The last three positions are rather easy to predict. After all, N0tail is not only comfortable as full support but is also arguably one of the best in the world. The same can be said for Ceb and MSS.

That leaves No[o]ne- and Topson. Although Topson has been observed to be playing in pub games as a carry player, he’s better off as a mid player. Considering what a beast No[o]ne- is, having Topson give him the needed space is sure to pose a problem to enemy teams.

The Originals

It’s worth mentioning that the name of this new team appears “inspired” by their old one. Old G seems to be telling everyone that they’re the “original” of OG. Still, it’s good that they decided to form a new team instead of just taking over the roster of OG. That means they still see a bright future ahead for the “new” OG.

It’s interesting to note as well that they didn’t bring back Anathan “ana” Pham. Maybe they tried but Ana had other plans. We’ll probably never know.

Looking to the Future

There’s no doubt that many fans are sure hyped, plus a lot of expectations moving forward. If they manage to come together as a team during the upcoming DPC season, then they’re going to be one of those to watch out for.
