Week 2 updates. Valve

The second week of competitions of the Dota 2 2021 DPC Season 2 has come to a close. With this, we get some idea of which teams are starting to take the lead and which ones may be on the brink of elimination.

It’s worth noting as well that for Season 2, there has been a change in the name of two regions. Europe is now called the Western Europe region while CIS got renamed to the Eastern Europe region.

How did your favorite teams do so far?

North America

Let’s start in North America where, as expected, the same teams are holding the top positions. Evil Geniuses, Quincy Crew, and Undying, all carry a 2-0 standing and have yet to lose a game.

One of the highlights was the match between EG and 4 Zoomers where the former pretty much dominated the latter. In the first game, for example, both Artour “Arteezy” Babaev and Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop of EG ended with a score of 12 kills and zero deaths.

You can watch that game below:

The complete standings so far are:

  • Evil Geniuses: 2-0
  • Quincy Crew: 2-0
  • Undying: 2-0
  • 4 Zoomers: 2-1
  • Black N Yellow: 1-2
  • simply TOOBASED: 1-2
  • S A D B O Y S: 0-2
  • The Cut: 0-3

South America

Moving down south, Thunder Predator hopes to do again what it did during the Singapore Major. However, Beastcoast is likely a roadblock to get the coveted Major Playoffs spot. For those who followed the SG Major, Beastcoast had to withdraw from the tournament due to health concerns.

The complete standings are:

  • Beastcoast: 3-0
  • Thunder Predator: 3-0
  • NoPing e-sports: 2-0
  • Infamous: 1-1
  • Infinity Esports: 1-1
  • SG e-sports: 0-2
  • Hokori: 0-3
  • Team Unknown: 0-3

Southeast Asia

Going to Southeast Asia, it looks like TNC Predator is hungry for a Majors appearance as it leads the standings in the region. This being only the second week though, be prepared for some changes later on.

The standings for SEA are:

  • TNC Predator: 3-0
  • BOOM Esports: 2-1
  • Omega Esports: 2-1
  • OB Esports x Neon: 1-1
  • T1: 1-1
  • Execration: 1-2
  • Fnatic: 0-1
  • Lilgun: 0-3

Western Europe

In Western Europe, it’s Alliance that’s off to a good start. However, don’t count Team Secret out yet since they’re just close by. Fans should also watch out for Team Liquid especially with a new member on its roster. Plus, don’t count out TI champions Team Nigma and OG as well.

Here are the standings in this region:

  • Alliance: 3-0
  • Team Secret: 2-1
  • Brame: 1-1
  • OG: 1-1
  • Team Liquid: 1-1
  • Team Nigma: 1-2
  • Tundra Esports: 1-2
  • Hellbear Smashers: 0-2

Eastern Europe

For Eastern Europe, Team Spirit is showing a good performance and leads the standings. Just behind them though are Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere. The complete standings for this region shows:

China

Nothing much has happened in this region, and currently, the matches have been focused on four teams. The three teams having a 2-1 record are EHOME, Elephant, and Royal Never Give Up. Sparking Arrow Gaming, meanwhile, has 0-3 as the rest of the participants still at 0-0.
