DOOM update 6.66 (seriously) is now available, and all the multiplayer DLC released up to this point is now free for everyone with a copy of the game to play. This includes new weapons, maps and even game modes. Other updates, including a new multiplayer progression system, are also included in the update.

The biggest news is that all the multiplayer DLC for DOOM is now free for everyone. This includes nine maps, three guns, three playable demons, extra equipment, extra armor and more.

As for other multiplayer changes, the 6.66 update also adds bot support and introduces a new progression system. Instead of the random drops DOOM used to have, new items can now be unlocked by completing specific goals. This means you’ll be able to work towards the item you want instead of hoping it is a random drop. Because there’s this new progression system, all players will be reset back to 0. If you’ve been playing DOOM for a while, you’ll be rewarded with a Veteran badge to show your support.

Also coming in update 6.66 is an updated Rune system and modified kill notifications. The change with Runes is they can now be persistently equipped unlike before. The new kill notifications will not only tell you who killed you, but also what they killed you with and how much damage you took. Other menus and HUD elements are also getting redesigned, including the post-match summaries and lobbies.

If you haven’t played DOOM yet, now is the perfect time to get started. Not only will there be free trials running from now to Sunday on PS4, Xbox One and PC, the game has been reduced in price as well. Digital copies are now being sold for $14.99, which is a steal.

The 6.66 patch notes have also been released, which detail all the bug fixes for multiplayer and SnapMap. The full patch notes are as follows:
