The Division 2 is all set to release a new game mode in The Summit. This new mode is playable in solo or co-op and has players climb a building one floor at a time, clearing out enemies with the goal of reaching the 100th floor and taking on the final confrontation. The Summit is arriving with Title Update 11, which is set to be released on September 22.

The Summit has players face different challenges on each floor. These are going to range from specific objectives to enemy forces. As players move their way up, the opponents start to become more ruthless. The floors themselves have been randomly selected from a series of predefined designs along with randomized AI spawns. There are also going to be floors that come with directives, so not only are they harder to complete, but often need players to make adjustments to their strategies.

This new mode is open to players that have reached level 40 and completed the Warlords of New York campaign. In order to get access to The Summit itself, players can either fast travel to the location from the New York City main map or speak to the Pilot just outside of the White House Base of Operations.

Here’s how it’s actually going to work. Once you reach the lobby, there should be an elevator which lets you start your ascent, or you can choose a rally point. The selections are going to be based on the progress of the session owner. Then from the last session played, you have the option to select the last rally point. This is saved at every 10th floor from 11th, 21st, 31st, and so on. Meanwhile, checkpoints are going to be present on every third floor, which start on the 11th. This should give you a chance to retry in case of a wipe.

Players need to work their way through floors in blocks of 10 floors, with the final floor of the block giving a harder boss opponent in order to move to the next stage. The thing is, when you beat the final opponent of the run, you can choose to go to the next floor or return to a rally point and rerun it for more loot.

Of course, given this challenge, there’s no question that there’s going to be rewards. The quality of the loot is going to be based on the difficulty of the floor. There are also going to be some new items to be earned in The Summit.

So are you ready to take on The Summit?
