The Lord of Terror has clawed his way out from the depths of hell to bring terror once again. Diablo II: Resurrected is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. The game is the definitive remaster of Diablo II and the Lord of Destruction expansion.

This remastered version was developed to make the most of what modern gaming hardware has to offer. It supports up to 4K resolution displays and fully remastered 7.1 Dolby Surround audio, which allows players to experience those blood curdling screams. Players can also look forward to seeing the 27 minutes of the original cinematics being re-shot with high-fidelity visuals.

There may have been a lot of changes but fans of the original version can still enjoy this one. That’s because the original game engine is doing the same old calculations and logic.

More Accessibility Options

The remastered version also allows cross-progression with players simply needing to log in to their Battle.net account. To make sure that the game can be enjoyed by more players, this new version comes with a wide range of accessibility and quality-of-life options. For instance, players can fine-tune their experience without the need to compromise the classic gameplay.

Other changes focused on accessibility include:

  • Controller support on all platforms.
  • Font scaling, colorblind modes, and readability options.
  • Emote wheel for faster communication.
  • Volume adjustment across a multitude of audio channels.
  • Auto-gold pickup.
  • Increased and shared stash.
  • Extensive key-binding options. This includes a bindable "Interact" hotkey on controllers.

In a statement, Jen Oneal, co-leader of Blizzard Entertainment, revealed that they hope to introduce the game to new audiences. Oneal said that it was an honor to bring this classic game back to life.

The game is available as a standalone experience for $39.99. There is also the Diablo Prime Evil Collection, priced at $59.99, which includes:

  • Diablo II: Resurrected
  • The Diablo III Eternal Collection
    • Diablo III
    • Reaper of Souls expansion
    • Rise of the Necromancer content pack
  • The Mephisto pet and Hatred’s Grasp wings for Diablo III
