It’s strange, unheard of, and oddly enough, really entertaining, but Devil May Cry V is giving players the option to watch all the game’s cutscenes in glorious pre-visualization live action.

Players who order the Deluxe Edition of Devil May Cry V are in for a weird surprise when they stumble upon a setting in the Options menu converting all of the game’s cutscenes into live-action versions, complete with cardboard props, budget cosplay, and full-on motion capture.

In addition to the live action cutscenes, the Deluxe Edition also gives players a bunch of bonus exclusives. These include 100,000 Red Orbs that players can use to upgrade their characters’ skills and powers, a set of alternate player colors and outfits, an exclusive Devil May Cry V wallpaper, and plenty more. While we’re willing to shell out some extra cash just for the live action cutscenes, arguably the best reason to get the Deluxe Edition would be the upgrade pack, which includes the Cavaliere R weapon as well as some new and exclusive devil breakers like Sweet Surrender, Gerbera GP01, Pasta Breaker, and even the Mega Man-inspired Mega Buster. The Deluxe Edition also includes the soundtracks for all of the previous Devil May Cry games, so players can switch to their favorite tracks using the in-game menu.

The base Devil May Cry V game is available at just under $60, so getting the Deluxe Edition for just roughly $10 more doesn’t seem too bad of deal, considering all the cool stuff you’re getting. However, the Collector’s Edition is an entirely different animal with a $149 price tag, so we won’t recommend that unless you’re made of money or a true hardcore fan of the Devil May Cry franchise.

We’re all set for the Devil May Cry V launch happening later this week, but we’d like to hear what you think about this strange little treat the developers have generously gifted to fans of the franchise. Are you looking forward to watching the live action cutscenes? Will you be getting the Deluxe Edition to experience it for yourself? Let us know in the comments section below!
