The plot for Man of Medan starts light-hearted but soon shifts to a hellish sequence of events. It begins with a group of friends joining a boat party and later deciding to go on a deep-sea dive to explore the sunken wreckage of an antique ship. However, if they knew the events that would take place later, they probably would have thought twice before taking the plunge.

In terms of gameplay, players need to make quick decisions and actions over the course of this chilling interactive drama. As a way of helping them, the game has a unique feature known as "dark pictures." Once they find one of them, their character senses a premonition of events that can happen in the future. It's up to them on how to correctly interpret these visions and save the protagonists from their doom.

Experience the Horror

Man of Medan is the first story in the series. The others are:

  • Little Hope
    • Four college students and their professor are trapped and isolated in an abandoned town.
    • To survive, they need to escape the nightmarish apparitions that are relentlessly pursuing them through an impenetrable fog.
  • House of Ashes
    • At the close of the Iraq War, Special Forces hunting for weapons of mass destruction unearth something far deadlier instead, a buried Sumerian temple containing a nest of unearthly creatures.
    • To survive the night below, they must forge a brotherhood with their enemies from the world above.
  • The Devil in Me
    • A group of documentary film makers receive a mysterious call inviting them to a modern-day replica of H.H. Holmes' Murder Castle.
    • Upon arriving, they later discover that they're being watched and manipulated.
    • There's much more at stake than just ratings.
