I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I’m constantly amazed how playable Crusader Kings 2 is even after five years. Not only is it still amazing to play, new content has continued to come out for it for the past 5 years. So many other games I put down after a few months and never play again, but Crusader Kings remains. Today, Paradox starts a year-long celebration of Crusader Kings in honor of the game’s 5th anniversary.

To kick off the celebration, current owners of Crusader Kings can download a free portrait pack for the Indian Subcontinent here. I have an embarrassing confession to make – in the 300+ hours I’ve spent playing Crusader Kings , I have yet to play as a ruler in India. I think the anniversary is a great excuse to change that. Goodbye afternoon… and evening… and life.

If for some bizarre reason you don’t have the game, you can download it at a 75% discount here.

In its press release, Paradox said there will continue to be celebration gifts throughout the year. I’ll try to keep everyone updated on them as they come out and hopefully we can meet back here in 5 years for the big 10 year anniversary.
