When Call of Duty: Warzone was revealed, many gamers thought the 150 player-count was off the mark. But, now it seems that Infinity Ward is interested in raising that number.

After the massively successful launch of Call of Duty: Warzone, developer Infinity Ward confirmed that the company is planning to increase the Battle Royale player number from 150 to 200. An early Call of Duty: Warzone leaks also suggested that the Battle Royale would be featuring up to 200-player lobbies, and now it seems that the feature is making its way to the game.

In an interview with USA Today, Infinity Ward Studio Head Patrick Kelly said that the studio is already experimenting with 200 player-count lobbies.

“We brought a number of twists to battle royale,” Kelly told USA Today. “I do think the world you play in is going to be undeniably unique. For one thing, we are initially going to roll out with 150 players, when you are typically seeing 60 to 100. Actually, I can tell you we are already playing with 200 players. We are going to release that a little bit later.”

With 150 players fighting on a massive map, Call of Duty: Warzone has also set a high benchmark. Even though Kelly has stated that 200 player-count lobbies would be coming sometime later, he did not give an exact time frame as to when we can expect them. Since the feature is already being playtested, we should see the lobby number rise sooner rather than later.

Warzone is also doing pretty well on Twitch and big streamers including Shroud, Summit1g and Dr.Disrespect are giving this game a shot and have with mostly positive reviews.

Call of Duty: Warzone is currently available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One and you can download it completely for free. If you're going to be dropping into Warzone for the first time, we highly recommend that you read our 33 tips to know before playing Call of Duty: Warzone.
