Call of Duty Warzone: August 20 Patch Nerfs C58, Krig 6 Assault Rifles; EM2 Adjusted

A new update for Call of Duty: Warzone nerfed Krig 6 and C58 assault rifles and adjusted EM2. In addition, the High Alert perk got buffed, making it the perfect counter to those who use Dead Silence.

Assault Rifle Nerfs

The game seems in the assault rifle meta where the weapon type is used more often than others. That is because of their high damage and fast TTKs (Time-to-Kill) without too much recoil and other penalties.

However, that will likely change after this patch nerfed some popular ARs, including the C58 and Krig 6. The EM2 has also received some adjustments, though not as drastic as the aforementioned weapons.

The C58, an assault rifle introduced in Season 4, has proven to be quite effective in most situations. Therefore, developer Raven Software has increased its recoil, while also decreasing its max damage range, aim down sight (ADS) speed, and bullet velocity. Also, the Krig 6 will have its max damage range and minimum damage decreased.

For the EM2, its upper torso multiplier is decreased slightly, though the weapon’s base optic ADS speed penalty is reduced to compensate.

Dead Silence Counter

The High Alert perk, deemed as the perfect counter against the Dead Silence field upgrade, got even better.

Originally, it was only limited to pulsing your vision when enemies outside of your view see you. However, the patch improved the perk so that you can now hear the footsteps of your enemies when they’re using Dead Silence.

Take note that this feature is only limited to Warzone at the moment, but the developers may likely implement it on other Call of Duty games in the future.
