Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's explosive trailer took the world by storm as it showcased the game's campaign and a tiny bit of multiplayer. Now, Raven Software, the studio working on the game's campaign, has since shared additional information about what gamers can expect.

Raven Software is the primary developer working on the single-player campaign for Black Ops Cold War and the multiplayer aspect is being developed by Treyarch. In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Raven Software is shaking up the linear CoD formula and introducing some interesting changes to the campaign.

According to Raven Software, Black Ops Cold War's campaign will allow players to make dialogue choices, which can have a drastic impact on the narrative. Additionally, this time around there will also be optional side missions that will be unlocked as players progress through the campaign. Completing or skipping these side missions will further impact the main story, resulting in multiple endings. Besides what narrative choices you make in the game, your playstyle will also influence the game's ending.

Multiple endings mean increased replayability, which wasn't a selling point for previous Call of Duty games. The inclusion of side missions in a Call of Duty game is a welcoming touch. Also, the inclusion of side-missions should also make the campaign a lot meatier.

Fans have received Black Ops Cold War's trailer pretty warmly and it seems that they are also quite optimistic. While Raven Software is trying something new in a Call of Duty game that has typically remained loyal to linear storytelling up until now, the gameplay experience itself shouldn't drift away from a familiar Call of Duty experience. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War should also release additional information before it nears its November release date.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is releasing on November 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game will also release sometime later.
