The official reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War showed off its single-player campaign and teased the ever-popular multiplayer. Call of Duty took its time to tease the game for weeks by dropping puzzling hints in the Call of Duty community, sharing teasers on social media, and in the franchise's successful Battle Royale, Warzone. Now that the game has been revealed, Activision has also confirmed that there are multiple developers working on the game.

While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be published by Activision, the game is being primarily developed by Treyarch and Raven Studios. Treyarch is said to be working on the multiplayer part of the game and Raven is developing the single-player campaign. However, the project is being assisted by multiple developers including Beenox, High Noon Studios, Activision Shanghai, and Sledgehammer Games. All of these studios are owned by Activision.

Beenox is a small studio located in Canada. It has previously worked on multiple Spider-Man games and its recent works include Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2. Beenox will be responsible for optimizing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War to work seamlessly on Battlenet for PC.

Sledgehammer Games is popularly known for developing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and the studio has extensive experience in developing Call of Duty games.

High Moon Studios is known for developing the Deadpool game and multiple Transformers titles. It isn't clear what role the studio will be playing in the development of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, but it has been recently supporting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and it seems that the experience will be carried over to Black Ops Cold War.

Activision Shanghai will also be taking care of the online elements of the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is releasing on November 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game will also release sometime later.
