A new update has been introduced to Brawlhalla and it is offering something different. Instead of a new legend, Patch 5.07 adds a bunch of new items at the in-game store Mallhalla. There are also the usual game improvements, bug fixes, and a balance pass.

Before we go into the new items, let's look at the Brawl of the Week: Strikeout Mania. Here, you need to choose your best five legends and go against the best five of your opponent. When you lose a stock, the next legend in your list spawns, ready to fight. It’s going to be a bit difficult since the damage multiplier in this mode is 300%. To win, simply damage KO your opponent five times.

Going back to the new items, they’re mainly cosmetic items which are:

  • Skins
    • Cyber Oni Orion
      • “Engaging target. Switching to Attack mode. KOs incoming.”
      • This deadly cyber demon knocks out opponents with his Yokai Naginata Spear and Yorishiro Rocket Lance.
    • Wenqing Lin Fei
      • “Well-trained, cultured, and radically chic.”
      • Show your style and intellect with this skin that's always in vogue.
  • Emote
    • Card Shuffling Emote
      • “Classic misdirection!”
      • Tell your opponents, “pick a card, any card” with this emote.
  • Sidekick
    • Nian Shou
      • “He just wanted to celebrate too!”
      • This new sidekick is here to celebrate new years and your victories!
  • Avatars
    • New Country Flags
      • Serbia
      • Palestine
      • Colombia
      • Jordan
      • Lebanon

Balance Changes

Patch 5.07 made some balance changes on both weapons and legends.

Gauntlets, for example, had their damage lowered while Recover time was increased. The change ensures that the risk and reward are a bit closer than it was before. Katars now have a better chance to counterattack with increased Recover time on a miss for Side Light and increased time to hit for Down Light.

For legends, Mako’s Down Greatsword now has greater Recover time and greater Minimum Charge time. This should give opponents better counterattack chances. Magyar, on the other hand, has damage increased to better match the baseline power for anti-air attacks.

Legend Rotation

For this week, the free-to-play legend rotation includes:

  • Ada
  • Gnash
  • Yumiko
  • Lord Vraxx
  • Mordex
  • Volkov
  • Petra
  • Lin Fei
  • Jaeyun
