Dota Underlords Patch Notes
Dota Underlords Patch Notes Valve

On Monday, Valve released a patch introducing various balance updates for Dota Underlords. This is not the first update since the game’s first release.

The changes include:

  • Drow Ranger: Precision Aura now gives +10/+20/+30 Attack Speed to allies in a 1 cell radius.
  • Hunter Alliance: Chance to trigger extra attack increased from 15%/25% to 20%/35%.
  • Hunter Alliance: Reduced extra attacks from 2 to 1.
  • Black King Bar: Now grants Magic Immune for 7 seconds once the first enemy has 100% mana (once per battle).
  • Omniknight: Purification Heal/Damage increased from 200/300/400 to 200/400/600.
  • Abaddon: Aphotic Shield Absorption/Damage increased from 100/150/200 to 100/300/500.
  • Ogre Magi: Bloodlust self buff increased from 30/50/70 to 35/55/75.
  • General: Critical hits can't miss.
  • Assassins: Assassins are untargettable for one frame when landing after a jump. Loot round drops have been adjusted to give more consistent rewards.

Dota Underlords was released by Valve last week on a limited access. The game has been running on what Valve has called a Friends and Family Beta. Starting last Thursday, June 13, access to Dota Underlords was expanded to include Battle Pass owners. Currently Valve is preparing to stress test its servers in preparation for the upcoming transition to Open Beta.

Within a day of giving access to Battle Pass owners, Valve released the first update for the game which included:

  • Fixed some Shop Portraits missing (Tiny, Slark)
  • Fixed crash when dragging a unit outside the window and then selling it
  • Fixed crash after leaving a game
  • Leaderboard streak particles are now turned off when the player dies
  • Fixed reconnect sometimes not working
  • Fixed passive abilities showing an invalid cooldown string
  • Fixed sell UI disappearing while dragging a unit

Dota Underlords is the third game in what is clearly an upcoming genre called 'autobattlers'. The “original” version was a mod for Dota 2 known as Dota Auto Chess. While Valve tried to come up with a deal with developer Drodo Studio, negotiations fell apart with both parties agreeing to develop their own versions. However, this mean that Drodo’s own version is not able to make use of any of Dota 2’s trademarks. Riot Games also released their own version with League of Legends Teamfight Tactics.
