The Assassin’s Creed movie will feature some familiar faces for those who’ve played the Ubisoft games. But no, you won’t see Michael Fassbender interact with Ezio or Altair, so does it really matter?

Tim Wildgoose, production armorer for the Assassin’s Creed movie, recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his work on the upcoming film. Wildgoose discussed the design ideas for Aguilar (Fassbender), but also teased possible video game character cameos.

“They’re not main characters from the games, but they’re very famous characters that the fans will probably enjoy,” Wildgoose told EW .

Once Ubisoft revealed Desmond Miles was not the protagonist in the Assassin’s Creed movie, any hopes of seeing Ezio and Altair were squashed. At this point, it’s not clear which video game characters would fit in the Spanish setting of the movie. Maybe they’ll bring in Juno? She is an important part of the Assassin’s Creed story, though it’s not exactly clear what she has planned for the human race.

It’s also unclear when the Assassin’s Creed movie takes place, whether it’s before Desmond saving the world from the apocalypse or after he dies. At least the trailer looks decent, though that’s not really saying much, as Ubisoft is also the studio that gave us the awful Prince of Persia movie.

We’ll probably check out the Assassin’s Creed movie when it hits theaters Dec. 21. Which video game characters do you think will make an appearance in the Assassin’s Creed move? Let us know in the comments below.
