Several Microsoft-owned studios are creating new AAA games that Xbox and PC players will receive in a couple of years. However, it looks like the tech giant is not planning to forget its past. According to a recent rumor, an Xbox franchise is getting the Halo: Master Chief Collection treatment.

Shpeshal Nick, co-host of XboxEra Podcast, revealed the new information but didn’t specify which franchise is getting the treatment. The two biggest contenders are Gears of War and Fable. Both of these franchises have multiple games that could use some touching up.

Possible Gears of War Collection

A Gears of War collection does make sense though. There are three major games, one spin-off game, and one major expansion. A compilation will be good for new players to try out these games in one go:

  • Gears of War
  • Gears of War 2
  • Gears of War 3
  • Gears of War 3: RAAM's Shadow (Expansion)
  • Gears of War: Judgment (Spin-Off)

Possible PC Release

The possible collection could bring all these amazing games to PC. Right now, of all these games, only Gears of War 1: Ultimate Edition is available on PC. On top of that, the said PC port is quite broken, and the developer never bothered to fix it.

A proper PC port of all games will bring many new fans to the franchise, similar to how Halo: MCC did. Halo: Master Chief Collection was a great success, especially after its release on PC. Many players who never tried out any Halo games got to play almost all Halo games in one go, bringing new players to the franchise.

If only Sony reacts and releases a complete God of War Collection or Uncharted Collection (with U1, 2, 3, and GA ) on PC and PS5.

So what do you think? Do you want a Gears of War or Fable collection? Is there any other Microsoft-owned IP you think deserves a proper compilation? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
