Well that was quick. After HBO announced Westworld season 2 yesterday, a teaser was released to show just how serious the execs were about the show. Westworld’s Twitter post reveals very intriguing details of what we could expect from Season 2. In the seventeen second teaser, we see what we imagine to be a glitch of some sort while Dr. Ford (Anthony Hopkins) mentions “these narratives” and “darkest fantasies.”

Westworld Season 2 is chalking up to be just as rule-breaking as season 1. Creator Johnathan Nolan shared details of season 2 during an interview with Entertainment Weekly and stated that Season 2 will focus on “Host construction and their power source”. Nolan made it clear this piece of the story will remain hush-hush.

The creators plan to keep the Host construction and power source mysterious. As a fan of Westworld, I have yet to ask the question of how the Hosts are actually created and what keeps them running. Aside from the chilling intro sequence of every episode, the thought hasn’t really crossed my mind. The creators really thought of everything.

While we do know the Hosts are more biological than they are mechanical, their brains are obviously different than us humans. In case that part went over our collective head, Hosts’ brains don’t require oxygen, which Nolan says “opens up interesting possibilities” for season 2.

Since there are advantages and disadvantages of being a Host, season 2 will be more focused on what Hosts are made of all the while Hosts are becoming understanding of that idea themselves as season 1 continues to unravel.

Episode 7 aired on Nov. 13. Follow all of our Westworld content here and read the latest review of the big story reveal.
