In Scandal Season 5 episode 21, the presidential candidates, Mellie Grant and Francisco Vargas will announce their running mates, but the Scandal season finale would not be a finale without lots of drama.
There is not much known about what will happen in the coming episode, called “That’s My Girl,” which is best viewed on television or live online through ABC Live ; however, there may be a big secret revealed about one of the presidential candidates. The episode promo hints it has to do with Mellie. The episode synopsis says Cyrus has some information that could negatively affect the election.
Meanwhile, Jake Ballard is ready to go rogue. Eli Pope had been grooming Jake to become Vice President. He had the former B6-13 member and current head of the NSA marry a political socialite to raise his clout in Washington. However, their presidential hopeful, Edison Davis has since dropped out of the race, leaving Jake in a precarious situation.
Not only is he married to a woman he doesn’t love and his push for the White House foiled, but he may not be able to make things work with Olivia. Eli warned his daughter Olivia, threatening to kill Jake if the two got back together. Jake is adamant about getting out of Eli’s grasp, but only Olivia knows what may happen to him if he tries to escape “Command.”
