Wasteland 3 is getting the Cult of the Holy Detonation on October 5. This is the game’s second and final expansion and is offered at $6.99 on Steam, GOG, Microsoft Store, and PlayStation Store.

This new expansion is also available through the Wasteland 3 Colorado Collection, priced at $59.99. In addition to the base game and new expansion, the Collection also has The Battle of Steeltown and Colorado Survival Gear. Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass members can get it at a $10 discount.

Cult Worship

Set in a post-apocalyptic Colorado, the new expansion focuses on a military complex housed deep in the Cheyenne Mountain. It’s a place where mutant cults worship an ancient deity known as the Holy Detonation. The so-called god is in fact a nuclear explosion that has been held in stasis.

There is no question that the energy of the Holy Detonation can power Colorado Springs for hundreds of years or possibly level the same in an instant. One of the problems is that the various cults have different opinions on who can honor this god. So, it’s going to make it that much more difficult for players to work their way to the altar.

Considering that this is the last mission, the outcome is sure to be explosive either way.

New Content

As a new expansion, it expands the gameplay experience with the addition of the Cheyenne Mountain complex. There are many things players can expect like new characters, new enemies, and new weapons and armor. Players can expect as well to take on challenging combat encounters.

Players are sure to be tested with the objective-based encounters that put a twist on the tactical turn-based combat. As the Rangers face overwhelming odds, they need to clear ventilation systems, shut down reactors, and overcome defensive countermeasures to stop the increasing tide of mutants and machines.

Wasteland 3 is a squad-based RPG with turn-based combat. It’s played from an isometric perspective, and it offers synchronous and asynchronous multiplayer. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
