War Thunder: Update 2.23.0.99 Resolves Runaway Cursor Issue

War Thunder can be quite intense at times, and a single error could determine a player's fate. When playing the game in fullscreen mode on multi-monitor setups back then, there was a problem where the cursor could escape to the other display. This occurred whenever the player did something specific during naval and helicopter battles, such as pressing the Alt key or opening the chat box. As a result, players would lose control of their vehicles, and likely, the match as well. The good news is that Gaijin Studios has finally squashed this annoying bug in Update 2.23.0.99, now available on all supported platforms.

Update 2.23.0.99 also implements new mechanics for torpedo sights. The ships in War Thunder have different torpedo tube orientations. There are torpedo tubes on the axis of the ship capable of firing from both sides like the Japanese IJN Shimakaze. There are some ships with side-mounted torpedo tubes that traverse through the left or right side of the vessel as well, such as the USS Atlanta and HMS Southampton.

Previously, torpedo tubes had to be selected manually by pressing Q, which can be quite cumbersome in heated battles. To address this, the torpedo tubes’ sight now follows the direction of the player instead of switching between available ones. Pressing the default hotkey now only turns this sight on or off.

What does this change mean? Players can now activate all torpedo tubes by pressing Q. After that, they can just choose which torpedo tube they want to fire from based on the available traverse angles.

If the torpedo sight is disabled and there’s an enemy within range, players can press the fire button to unleash a volley of torpedoes.

So, what can you say about the new torpedo sight mechanic?
