It’s that time of year again, folks. The Walking Dead Season 7 midseason finale is almost here, and as per usual, there will be blood.

Episode 7 left off with Negan playing house with Judith, Carl and a terrified Olivia. Yeah, Negan just walked into Rick’s house and made himself at home. He held Judith and even joked about killing her daddy. What does Judith care anyway? Her biological father Shane is dead because, you know, Rick killed him. It’s a cold world, Judith, so having Negan as a father might not be the worst thing ever.

Anyway, a cleanly shaved Negan is waiting for Rick to return to Alexandria. Unfortunately for Rick, Spencer got back before he did. If you’ve read the comics, you know exactly why this is troublesome for the group.

The TV series has shown us on multiple occasions how much Spencer does not like Rick. Spencer blames Rick for the death of his entire family, which is understandable considering most of the bad things that happened to Alexandria occurred after the group’s arrival. Comic book Spencer also hates Rick and everything he stands for.

In The Walking Dead comics, Spencer approaches Negan with a deal. He basically pitches to Negan the idea of taking out Rick together. The plan would involves Spencer leading Alexandria and he’ll do anything Negan wants. Negan grins at Spencer, almost as if he likes the plan. What Spencer doesn’t realize is Negan doesn’t like cowards. Negan literally guts Spencer in the streets of Alexandria. He just whips out a knife and slices him open.

Negan looks over Spencer’s body and says, “You did have guts. I’ve never been so wrong before in my life.”

Oh Negan, so witty! Rick, of course, doesn’t take it well that Negan killed someone in Alexandria, and he starts to think about alternative methods of dealing with this threat. Still, Rick isn’t going to risk pissing off Negan, especially now that he’s taken a fondness for Judith. Almost seems like Negan wants to be a father with the way he held Judith.

What do you think will happen in midseason finale? Let us know in the comments below. The Walking Dead Season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
