V Rising is now available on Steam Early Access. This release is because of a promising closed beta. The open-world vampire survival game has players go against mythical monsters and bandits either solo or co-op.
In the game, players take on the role of a newly awakened vampire in a world ruled by humans. To survive, they need to hide from the sun and feed on blood to get new powers. It's set in a dark fantasy realm where players can engage in PvE or PvP.
Features of the game include:
- Raise your Castle
- Gather resources and discover ancient techniques to gain dark powers.
- Players can use their newly acquired knowledge to build a castle where they can store loot and grow their very own army of darkness.
- It’s possible to personalize the domain and display unique vampiric style.
- Be sure to make coffins for servants and friends.
- Strengthen the castle to protect the treasure hoard from vampire rivals.
- Master your Vampire
- Learn and master a wide range of deadly weapons and unholy abilities.
- Players can aim skill-shots and dodge projectiles through WASD controls and cursor-based aiming.
- Players can customize their vampire to fit their play style.
- This can be done by combining weapons with a variety of spells earned through vanquishing powerful foes.
- Fear the light - Rule the night
- Remember to stick to the shadows during the day or be burned to ashes.
- Roam the night and prey on victims in the darkness
- As a vampire, players need to quench their thirst for blood while planning strategies around the day and nighttime.
In a statement, Stunlock Studios Marketing Director Johan Ilves revealed that after a lot of work, they have managed to build the foundations of a “truly unique vampire gameplay experience.” He added that by being in Early Access, they should be able to take the final steps in releasing a game that defines a genre.
