Considered the pioneer of extreme sports games, and perhaps one of the biggest factors in the evolution of modern skateboarding tricks, the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series has been a household name in the scene for a long time. To be honest, a remastered version has been a long time coming and that’s what publisher Activision and developer Vicarious Visions (Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy) just announced: a remastered version of the series’ first two games will be coming this year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store. Titled Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, the skateboarding game will launch on September 4.

Announced in a blog by Activision, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is set to bring back the game’s original levels, pro skaters, tricks, modes, and songs from its legendary soundtrack. The game now (expectedly) boasts 4K resolution capabilities at 60 frames per second: a long way away from the blocky skaters of yesterday. A brand-new way to enjoy the game will also come in the form of its multiplayer, either with local split screen or online game modes.

The game’s original roster will be coming back, including Steve Caballero, Geoff Rowley, Bucky Lasek, Elissa Steamer, Kareem Campbell, Andrew Reynolds, Bob Burnquist, Eric Koston, Rodney Mullen, Jamie Thomas, Rune Glifberg, and Chad Muska. As expected, each skater has their own special set of tricks that will be carried over from the original games, as well as a few new tricks like the Revert, Lip Tricks, and the Wall Plant.

Lastly, Create-A-Skater and Create-A-Park will be coming back with major improvements such as park sharing with your friends and much more comprehensive editing suite for an incredible level of customization.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is set to retail for $39.99. A digital deluxe version, which contains unique gear, is also available for $49.99. As for those who grind in the game and IRL, a collector’s edition will also be released for $99.99 that contains the digital deluxe content and a real limited-run, autographed Birdhouse skateboard deck.
